Mark Fissel of Augusta State University in Georgia wanted the IJNH to draw attention to a new collection of essays on amphibious warfare with material provided by some excellent scholars and naval history colleagues. It also covers an era that is less frequently consulted for lessons relative to contemporary expeditionary and amphibious warfare.
